Getting Started, The Rest of the Story
Coupon Index:

If you live in Utah or Las Vegas the index is already done for you. There is an alphabetical coupon index you can use to find a specific coupon. For the rest of you this is where my party favor from last week comes in handy. If you have not already downloaded it click this link for your copy. This Excel file will help you to create a list unique to you and your area. Watch this video demonstration below as I explain what to do.
So now you have your coupons, you have an index to sort and track them, and you have them all organized and ready for use. Now what? Next week I will show you the second step to The System, the PreShop. This is key to coupon savings success and protection from grocery store melt downs. I am talking about YOU not your kids! (If I have to bring my dearest ones with me I always prepare with a treat or some other bribe. Again this second step actually helps me get in, get out , and get on my way ton’s faster.)
If you are rather ambunxious and would like to help others in your area please email me for a unique opportunity to contribute to my blog, theosbessiveshopper@live.com.

Do you ever find that you get to the store and miss out on deals because you don’t have all of your coupons with you? That is my biggest worry with this way of organizing. I kind of like having all of my coupons with me so I can take advantage of unadvertised deals or clearance sales & what not.
Thanks so much for that tutorial! I’m having problems sorting the items alphabetically, though. I select the column, go to Data, but then Sort is in gray. I’ve tried opening a different spreadsheet and that one works fine. Do you have any idea what I could be doing wrong?
Lora,
You are not doing anything wrong. If you are not able to sort then what I suggest you do is go to the TOOLS tab on the top, choose PROTECTION, and then select UNPROTECT SHEET. That should work for you. Let me know if it doesn’t!

Allison,
I am sure that what you mentioned could happen. I can get a little out of control with buying things just because they are cheap. So for me leaving the rest of the coupons home saves my bottom line! If you remember too in my intro video from last week. I have to make myself choose peace or else I get, well, Obsessive!

Thank you so much! It works now!
Just curious…I sent an email last week to you and havent heard back. I am now worrying that I sent it to the wrong email because you have responded on here but I havent seen an email. I know you are super busy and didnt want to bother you, but I just wanted to make sure you got the email I sent you. (and if you I would love to send it again) it was about how I order the paper. Thanks so much. I love all this great information.
Okay, I’ve got my coupons, I have an index to sort and track them, and I have them all organized and ready for use. It’s a big change, but I’m willing to try anything to help me with coupon organization. I recently made my own coupon organizer, but I prefer your way of not cutting everything out right away. It definitely saves time, especially if I have multiple sets of coupons.
